Overview
An exciting opportunity to join the medical team in the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) and Medical Same Day Emergency Care (mSDEC) at Royal Derby Hospital. Aimed at middle grade doctors who want to gain further experience and confidence in acute medicine, these posts provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen clinical skills and to work closely with consultant physicians from various sub-specialties on the MAU/mSDEC. The posts are at the interface between primary and secondary care and require excellent communication skills.
The post holder will work the following shifts on MAU: 08:00-16:00, 15:00-00:30, 20:30-08:30; Saturday and Sunday 08:00-21:00, 20:30-08:30. On mSDEC: 08:00-16:00, 11:00-19:00, 15:00-23:00.
Responsibilities
* You will support the nursing team, other middle grade doctors, junior medical staff and the Consultant Physician on MAU/mSDEC.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Applicants must have completed at least 4 years of post-qualification experience either in the UK or abroad, with experience in Acute Medicine/Medical specialties.
* Experience and confidence with NHS systems and practices (or equivalent) and full MRCP qualification.
* Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practice at the time of submitting an application.
* You will be employed on Local terms and conditions. The salary will mirror the NHS Doctors and Dentists in Training (England) 2016.
