Deputy Manager

Location: Doncaster (DN4)

Salary: £30,000

Hours: 40 hours per week (flexibility required)

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated Deputy Manager to lead our welcoming and dedicated team at Walton Lodge in Doncaster. This is more than a management role — it’s a chance to make a genuine, lasting difference in people’s lives every day.

About Walton Lodge

Walton Lodge is a well-established residential service specialising in Autism, set in a pleasant area of Doncaster, within 5 miles of the town centre. The service benefits from excellent facilities, including:

Two buildings (14 en-suite bedrooms in one, 6 en-suite bedrooms in the other)

Recently refurbished to a high standard

Three lounge areas and two dining rooms

Two kitchen areas and laundry facilities

Dedicated manager and staff offices

Large garden and access to a minibus

Friendly, highly trained, and experienced staff team

Strong links with local facilities, colleges, and health services

Regular internal and external activities

Person-centred care plans for all individuals

Service users actively involved in the running of the home

Key Responsibilities

Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service.

Ensure compliance with CQC standards and company policies.

Lead and motivate staff teams to deliver person-centred care.

Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding practices.

Manage rota planning and staffing levels effectively.

Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals.

Drive continuous improvement and maintain high-quality standards."

Requirements

Proven experience in a leadership role within a care home, assisted living, or nursing home setting.

NVQ Level 5 Leadership and Management in Social Care

Alternatively, 2/3 years’ experience in a team leader role with an NVQ Level 3 and working towards a level 5.

Strong understanding of medication administration protocols and best practice.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple changing priorities effectively.

Compassionate approach to resident care

Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative when required.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
