Head Ranger Location: Rutland Water Contract: Full Time Permanent Salary: from £38,000 per annum About the role This is a hands-on r ole where you will lead and manage a team of permanent and seasonal Rangers. You will ensure the park is well maintained and welcoming for visitors. You will play a key role within the Parks Operational Management team and act as a Duty Manager on a rota basis. As Rutland Water is operational 7 days a week, 52 weeks per year (excluding Christmas Day), you will need to be flexible to work across peak seasons, major events within the calendar and step in to help across the site where needed. Typically, you work longer days in the summer and shorter days in the winter. Why AVH Parks? We strive to Make Today Great for all of our customers, every day. What will you be doing? Daily duties can vary as a Head Ranger, so no two days are usually the same. Key Responsibilities include: Lead and plan the maintenance programmes and presentation of the park and buildings. Manage and complete daily/weekly/monthly inspections on our digital portal to ensure compliance and safety is a top priority Manage car park systems, ensuring the uptime of the barrier and payment systems, whilst following cash handling procedures and reporting. Oversee fish stocking, catch returns and angling compliance across the site, whilst ensuring safety and high-quality experience s are enjoyed by all. Maintain our 65 boat fishing fleet and the accompanying equipment. Work alongside the Retail and Online Sales Manager and Event Organisers to plan and deliver fishing competitions across the year. Support delivery of large scale and park-led events Work alongside our Senior Conservation Ranger and Ground Maintenance team to work on conservation and land management programmes Line manage permanent and seasonal Rangers and ensure rotas are planned efficiently. What does it take?
