Job overview
The Clozapine Initiation Service is an exciting and transformational development, initially situated within Newcastle and Gateshead Community Services CBU, whilst longer term looking to expand Trust wide. As a new service, the Band 7 Clinical Lead would be expected to play a key role, alongside other professional leads (medical, pharmacy), in the development of the service from the outset.
Main duties of the job
Key areas of delivery would include involvement in the recruitment of a suitable workforce to ensure effective service delivery. Devising safe and effective working practices in line with current CNTW policies relating to Clozapine initiation and titration. Ensuring that all team members have received the appropriate required mandatory and additional training (relating to the Clozapine Service) and regularly receive operational and clinical supervision. Working closely alongside community/in-patient teams to promote the service and identify service users who may be suitable for the Clozapine Initiation Service. To be involved in compiling and completing reports pertaining to the quality and performance of the service to ensure that the key targets/deliverables are attained. A key interest would be in the prescribing element of the role.

Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse/ Registered Learning Disability Nurse (as appropriate) or equivalent relevant professional qualification
* If applicable to service Non Medical Prescriber
* Relevant Clinical Training and post graduate Qualification
* Qualification in Family Interventions
Knowledge and Experience
* Knowledge & Experience of the Recovery Model.
* Proven track record of providing professional leadership within clinical services.
* Clinical supervision and Application. Adherence to Health and Safety policies.
* Casework Management.
* Facilitation of Personal Development Planning in others.
* Experience of CBU based Model of Care Provision.
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team using the CBU based approach.
* Care Packages and Pathways Clustering
* Working with First episode Psychosis
* Worked in a leadership role
* Has been responsible for providing effective clinical supervision
Skills and Competencies
* Excellent communication skills and liaison skills.
* Organisational and time management skills.
