Come join Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Teaching Hospitals as our Highly Specialist Pharmacist for Women's Health. This role offers opportunities to develop leadership and clinical skills within a multidisciplinary team, delivering services across maternity, gynaecology, outpatient services, and assisted conception units. You will collaborate closely with the Lead Pharmacist for Children's Health and the Principal Pharmacist for Surgery to ensure optimal medicines management and governance.
Main duties of the job
* Participate in consultant-led ward rounds, ensuring safe pharmaceutical care from admission to discharge.
* Work directly with patients and carers to support medication adherence.
* Develop and review policies, guidelines, and conduct audits related to medicines management.
* Provide education and training to healthcare professionals.
* Participate in service improvement projects and medicines governance.
* Support the team in clinical and managerial aspects of pharmacy practice.
Person Specification
Knowledge: Broad academic knowledge, NHS policies, and understanding of trust values.
Skills: Clinical problem-solving, leadership, time management, communication, and IT skills.
Experience: Extensive clinical pharmacy experience at a senior level, governance, audit, and training experience.
Qualifications: Master's in pharmacy, registration with GPhC, prescribing qualification, and CPD evidence.
