Role Overview
As the Stamping & Tooling Lead Engineer, reporting to the Forward Programme Planning Manager, you will influence product designs and engineering. You will develop viable business solutions, generate initial programme inputs, and liaise with the GME Stamping organisation and other functions within the Body-In-White Enterprise, including Design Studio, Product Engineering, GME, MP&L, and Procurement.
What to Expect
* Act as the programme interface for Product Engineering & Design during early product creation phases.
* Provide initial concept feasibility support for Design Studios and Product Engineering before engagement of the Feasibility and Process Engineering teams.
* Serve as the technical contact for all new programme enquiries, offering feasibility responses on behalf of GME Stamping.
* Report CAD progression and part feasibility status to programme planners.
* Outline initial concept processes and materials for costing and RFQ, maintaining details within the parts feasibility tracker.
* Arrange and conduct feasibility gateway events (F Events) following EQAP+ procedures.
* Generate geometry modification requests using e-Trackers, FCRs, JIRA, and AIM systems to record feasibility requirements.
* Collaborate with Technical Specialists to support investigations that optimize business solutions to meet programme targets for CAPEX, Quality, Material, and Performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Catia V5 & V6.
* Deep understanding of Stamping Forming guidelines & principles (BoD & BoP).
* Forming Simulation capabilities.
* Effective presentation skills across all leadership levels.
* Strong problem-solving abilities.
