We're looking for a dedicated Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse to join our dynamic and supportive Tissue Viability Team. In this role, you'll contribute to the prevention and management of complex wounds, including pressure ulcers, while ensuring the highest standards of care for patients, their families, and the wider healthcare team.
You'll play a key role in educating and training staff, patients and carers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth. You will also provide invaluable support to new team members, guiding them through a comprehensive induction to ensure a positive and inclusive working experience.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties:
* Lead and Innovate: Develop and coordinate an evidence-based complex wound service that aligns with clinical governance standards and provides high-quality, patient-centered care.
* Service Development: Contribute to the continuous improvement of services through audit, research and implementation of best practices in tissue viability.
* Clinical Leadership: Provide expert leadership and support to the nursing and administrative staff. Step as the lead in the absence of the Tissue Viability Lead Nurse.
* Education and Support: Offer specialist advice and training to healthcare professionals across the Borough of Barnet, ensuring high standards of clinical practice.
* Collaborative Practice: As an autonomous practitioner, liaising with primary and secondary care services and independent nursing homes to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
* Mentorship: Offer support and mentorship to junior team members and newly starting nurses, fostering an environment of learning and growth in tissue viability nursing.
* Empowerment through Self-Care: Promote self-care and hospital admission avoidance, empowering patients and carers with the knowledge to manage tissue viability conditions.
