Overview
Lead Practice Educator, NHS Grampian – Band 8A. 1.0 WTE hours – Full time (37.0 hours per week). Permanent position – job share could be considered.
Responsibilities
* Full-time position within Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Services with expectation to deliver at the same level across other services as organisational needs arise.
* Drive forward this specialist Educational role in collaboration with the Chief Nurses, Lead Nurse for Practice Education and Development, and the Nurse Director for Excellence and Innovation; align with NHS Grampian priorities, Plan for the Future, and Scottish Government priorities.
* Work as part of the Senior Practice Education and Development Team to ensure strong partnerships with NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and Higher and Further Education Institutes.
* Support NHS Grampian’s Pathway to Excellence accreditation and play a key role in this process.
* Ensure robust governance and measurable outcomes while enabling learners within the Nursing and Midwifery workforce to deliver first-class, evidence-based care within a high-quality learning environment.
* Have extensive Practice Education experience, hold a Master’s degree, a postgraduate teaching certificate, and be knowledgeable of educational priorities and drivers informing local educational work plans across NHS Grampian services; maintain a robust educational governance framework and a strong voice within Practice Education and Development.
* Innovative development of educational transitional programmes for new graduates and staff; enhance learning and development of teams through the NES four pillars of practice framework; bring excellent interpersonal, leadership, and management skills, with creative and innovative thinking and clinical credibility to balance competing demands.
Qualifications and Experience
* Extensive Practice Education experience.
* Master’s degree and a postgraduate teaching certificate.
* Knowledge of educational priorities and drivers informing local educational work plans across NHS Grampian services.
* Experience with educational governance and the ability to influence Practice Education and Development.
