Are you seeking to develop your skills as a nurse practitioner ? An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 chemotherapy nurse to join our Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment Nurse Practitioners (SACT NP) team. The successful candidate will work alongside SACT Nurse Practitioners in a nurse led service assessing less complex cancer patients prior to administration of SACT.

Main duties of the job
1. Undertake nursing procedures, general as well as specific to speciality, administer SACT to out-patients patients’ at least monthly thus maintaining clinical competency in cannulation and administration techniques.
2. Work alongside SACT NP managing patients` care according to agreed protocols, taking appropriate action, seeking advice from other members of the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate. Be able to carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision.
3. Communicate effectively with wider team to ensure patients` safety and delivery of quality care. Act as a clinical resource within SACT speciality providing supervision to staff and sharing of knowledge and skills.
4. Organise own workload ensuring effective use of time. Ensure that nursing documentation is maintained to the Trust standard and is reflected in the patient record. To maintain patient confidentiality.

5. Registered nurse level
6. Relevant specialist course or equivalent experience in oncology nursing
7. Recognised teaching/assessing qualification

8. Has attained or is willing to work towards Degree/Bsc in Nursing.

9. Substantial post registration experience, experience in chemotherapy/ SACT
