SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: L31Contract Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-PermStart Date: Immediate

Are you a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next rewarding role? We are delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in the L31 area, proudly rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant for an immediate start.

This is a full-time, long-term position, offered on a temporary-to-permanent basis, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to secure a permanent role within a supportive and inclusive school community.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils to reach their full potential by:

* Providing targeted support to pupils with SEN, both 1:1 and in small groups
* Supporting children with a range of needs, including learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, and social/emotional needs
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement IEPs, EHCPs, and tailored learning strategies
* Supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day
* Promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils develop confidence and independence
* Creating a calm, safe, and nurturing learning environment where all pupils feel valued
* Assisting with classroom preparation and contributing to a positive team culture

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience working in a school environment. This is an essential requirement.

Ideally, you will also have:

* Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
* A genuine passion for making a positive difference to children’s lives
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
* Confidence working as part of a wider school team
* Flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude
