THE ROLE Global Mobility Tax Manager – Aberdeen As a Manager in our Global Mobility Tax Team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional client service, managing complex global tax compliance projects, and developing both your team and technical expertise. Based in Aberdeen – the energy capital of Europe – this role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients in the oil & gas and wider energy sector, supporting the unique challenges of a globally mobile workforce. Your Responsibilities Will Include Acting as the main point of contact for clients and our global network, ensuring seamless global payroll and tax compliance. Managing the day-to-day global delivery of client engagements, overseeing compliance, advisory projects, and strategic planning. Providing specialist tax analysis on cross-border tax, social security, and global mobility policies, with a particular focus on treaty applications and compliance for offshore workers in the oil & gas/energy sector. Identifying and progressing opportunities for additional services, supporting business development initiatives. Mentoring, supporting, and coaching junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development. Overseeing engagement finances, scope creep, and recoveries, ensuring efficiency and profitability. Staying ahead of global mobility trends, proactively developing solutions to enhance client service and address the complex needs of sector specific clients. Required Skills: Technical tax expertise – Strong knowledge of global mobility UK tax compliance and advisory services; experience with treaty application processes for offshore workers is highly desirable. Organisational skills: Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy. Workload management: Proven capability to handle a dynamic workload for yourself and team, balancing competing demands while maintaining high-quality standards. Supporting junior development: Experience in mentoring and developing team members, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment. Interpersonal skills: Strong communication and relationship-building skills to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams. Strong relationships: Ability to build and manage trusted relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and support. Commercial Awareness – Ability to manage the finances within your portfolio and identify opportunities for business growth. Desired Skills: ATT and/or CTA qualified (or equivalent). Experience working with small to mid-sized client engagements, ideally across a variety of sectors. A strong background in tailoring advice and technical solutions to the specific needs of clients rather than applying standardised approaches. Proven ability to manage and grow a client portfolio, including identifying new service lines or cross-sell opportunities. Demonstrable formal people management or coaching experience, ideally in a professional services environment.
