Job summary
Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Wealstun, a category C Prison located in Wetherby. HMP Wealstun is a male prison with a capacity for 832. We are looking for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join a team of around 12 to help support patients with Mental Health needs. Ideal candidate would have experience working in a secure environment and be able to work independently.
Hours
37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00, with 1 weekend in 4.
Salary
This position is full time. You’ll receive an annual salary up to £47,466 per annum FTE – depending on experience.

Requirements
Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
* Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients’ mental health needs.
* Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
* Contribute to nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence-based care, seek and act on patient feedback to make care personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Deliver non-judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries.
* Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following policies and procedures with safeguarding considerations.
Qualifications
* Occupational Therapist or Social Worker - HCPC / NMC Registered
* Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge of this patient group
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment
