Assistant Quantity Surveyor Opportunity
My client is an established construction subcontractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering access solutions to major housebuilders across the UK. Due to a significant increase in key projects, the company is now looking for a driven Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team to support a variety of clients across the Midlands. The role involves working closely with both office and site teams to manage project costs, support commercial performance, and maintain financial control across multiple developments.
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for:
* Preparing detailed valuations and handling applications for payment, including any variations.
* Negotiating and finalising project accounts with clients.
* Tracking ongoing costs to ensure works remain within agreed budgets.
* Conducting site visits to monitor progress and support operational accuracy.
* Managing documentation and reporting to ensure clear financial oversight.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
* Relevant qualification in surveying or construction or equivalent
* Prior experience in a subcontracting or residential environment within the construction sector would be ideal
* Strong numerical and analytical skills and commercial awareness.
* Excellent communication and networking skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Can work independently and part of a team and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments
Other Desirable Skills Include:
* Knowledge of brickwork and/or scaffolding would be highly advantageous
