Join a growing, multinational Oil and Gas Leader on a permanent staff basis as a Supplier Quality Engineer, based in Portlethen, Aberdeen. Competitive salary and 9 day Fortnight on offer.
Reporting to the QA Manager, as the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
Supplier Evaluation and Selection:
* Owning the UK Approved Supplier List – evaluations, re-evaluations, update of records.
* Evaluating potential suppliers based on quality, reliability and performance criteria.
* Collaborating with the procurement team to propose, assess and select suppliers that meet the company's quality standards and requirements.
Supplier NCR/SCAR/SIR:
* Owning the process for Supplier NCR management/focal point for supplier quality issues.
* NC Investigation, root cause analysis, reporting.
* Analysing data and looking for trends/areas of focus/savings/improvements.
Supplier Performance Monitoring and Auditing:
* Monitoring supplier quality performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
* Working closely with suppliers to address quality issues and to implement corrective actions.
* Leading, coordinating and executing the supplier audit program for the UK.
Quality Control and Inspection:
* Expediting as directed by supply chain management.
* Coordinating with suppliers to establish critical release dates and inspection release.
* Conducting regular inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications and standards/quality of documentation.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
* Collaborating with Cross-Functional Teams, including Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations and Quality Assurance, to address and resolve supplier product or service quality issues.
* Providing technical support and guidance to Internal Teams on supplier quality matters.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
* Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the supply chain.
* Collaborating with suppliers to implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
General:
* Participating in HSE initiatives.
* Good housekeeping.
* Actively participating in audits and audit-related activities.
* Special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Knowledge of manufacturing within the oil and gas industry including relevant product knowledge.
* Educated to HNC/HND level in relevant subject area (e.g. engineering) would be preferred.
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (e.g. word).
* Experience of ISO9001, API Q1, API 5CT, ISO 45001, ISO 14001.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Formal Auditing qualification.
* Knowledge and experience of an ERP system, ideally Microsoft D365.
* Full Driving Licence.
* Knowledge of supply chain processes and supplier management.
* Experience of non-conformity and incident investigation/root cause analysis.
Desirable:
* Experience/knowledge of NDT techniques and processes.
* Manufacturing/Fabrication/Machining knowledge/experience.
* Knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems, ERP systems.
* In depth knowledge/interpretation of International Codes and Standards.
* Data analysis and reporting techniques including visualisation and presentation of data.
