The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Manager to support the running of our Hereford store on Widemarsh Street. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for retail and customer service.
This role is offered on a 30-hour contract, but flexibility is essential, as additional hours (up to 37.5 or more per week) may be required during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Store Manager, you will help drive performance, maintain high operational standards, and ensure every customer receives excellent service.
* Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations and overall store performance.
* Assist in maintaining visually appealing store and window displays, ensuring all stock is presented to the highest standard.
* Contribute to the achievement of key KPIs, including turnover, profitability, and staff retention.
* Help lead, train, and motivate the store team, encouraging them to exceed sales targets and ensure thorough and effective training through both personal and company training schemes.
* Deliver and maintain excellent levels of customer care, product knowledge, and professionalism.
* Ensure Health & Safety policies are followed by all staff.
* Manage administrative duties and support stock control processes as needed.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, commercially aware, and passionate about delivering results.
Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within retail or a customer-focused environment.
* A proven track record of working towards and achieving sales and performance targets.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Confident in carrying out administrative duties and using Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
* A positive attitude with the ability to lead by example and motivate a team.
* A team player who is dependable, flexible, and adaptable to the changing requirements of the business.
Working Hours:
* The store operates Monday to Saturday, 9:00am until 5:30pm and Sunday, 10:30am until 3:30pm.
* The successful candidate will have a 30-hour contract, with flexibility to work additional hours as required by the business.
