About the role
As a Trainee Cover Supervisor, you will supervise secondary school classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students stay engaged with their learning.
This role provides excellent experience for those considering teacher training, a PGCE, or a career in education.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising secondary school classes (KS3 and KS4) across Stoke-on-Trent schools
* Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities set by teaching staff
* Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Supporting students to remain focused and complete assigned work
* Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Trainee cover supervisor you will:
* Strong communication and classroom management skills

* An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
