A pharmacist is a licensed individual responsible for all aspects of pharmaceutical care and pharmacy practice. The role of the Pharmacist is to provide drug information, review for interaction, safety, and efficacy, as well as clinical consulting services. The pharmacist is also responsible for all compounding, packaging, and dispensing of medications. The pharmacist is regulated by all state and federal laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy. A pharmacist must be compassionate, courteous, and have excellent interpersonal skills. A pharmacist must be an educator and drug information resource.
This position is for the Cedar City, St. George, and Mesquite areas.
Specific Pharmacist Duties
1. Expert use and safety of medications dispensed.
2. Work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
3. Supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and ancillary staff with filling, dispensing, labeling, and packaging of medication.
4. Perform the final check on all medication.
5. Manage inventory and profitability (including invoicing, purchasing, labor, etc.).
6. Protect health information (HIPAA).
7. Prevent fraud, waste, and abuse.
8. Prepare sterile solutions according to USP 797.
9. Prepare enteral feeding and nutrition.
10. Prepare computer-generated forms and reports.
11. Maintain compliance with legal aspects of pharmacy practice and regulations.

* Active Controlled Substance license
* Long-term care pharmacy experience (preferred)
