We are recruiting for an After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant at our club at Buryfields Infant School in Odiham, Hook (RG29). This role is part‑time, term‑time only, working Monday to Thursday from 2:55 pm – 6:00 pm.
The Role
As an After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant, you will assist the After School Club Manager and other Assistants in the safe and organised running of the club and actively support and engage children aged 4‑11. You will deliver playwork activities such as Arts & Crafts, Sports, Team Games and other activities, ensuring a safe and secure setting for each child.
Responsibilities
* Assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the club.
* Help set up, organise and deliver a range of activities and encourage children to participate.
* Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of snack time.
* Maintain sensitivity for children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary).
* Develop strong relationships with all children to ensure every child has as much fun as possible.
* Develop a thorough understanding of relevant Ofsted standards, KOOSA Kids internal policies and procedures, including safeguarding.
* Ensure all activity areas are cleaned and tidy at the end of each day.
Skills & Experience
* Passion/interested in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting.
* Energetic and fun‑loud nature.
* Reliability and effective communication with colleagues and children.
* Ability to engage with children aged 4‑11 years.
* Opportunities to gain qualifications and further growth & development for suitable candidates.
* Full training and inductions will be provided to all Assistants.
Applicants with experience in a Primary School, Pre‑School or Nursery setting, such as Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant, will be considered.
Hours
Monday – Thursday, 2:55 pm – 6:00 pm, term‑time only.
