The Opportunity
Our Water Infrastructure team in Manchester is growing, and we are seeking an engineer with relevant professional experience gained in industry and a strong curiosity about the impact water can have on people’s lives, alongside a drive to help protect communities You will ideally understand hydraulics and may be digitally savvy, with an interest in using digital tools to solve complex problems and improve efficiency by reducing repetitive tasks.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to major water infrastructure schemes, including AMP8 framework projects, working on a wide range of exciting and challenging work. Reporting to the Water Team Leader in Manchester, you will support the design of clean water and wastewater projects, with a focus on hydraulic design, while working as part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality technical outputs.
Is this role right for you?
We are seeking the below skills and knowledge:
• University degree in a relevant discipline with demonstrable experience in water-related project design
• Working towards professional qualification (CIWEM, ICE or similar)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar, with exposure to digital tools and design innovation
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, drawings, presentations) with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly
• Able to work independently and collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary teams
• Highly desirable: experience in hydraulic calculations and/or hydraulic modelling software, along with commercial awareness and knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, and best practices
