The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a Head of HSE & Wellbeing to support and enhance our project delivery team. What will you be doing as our new Head of HSE & Wellbeing ? As our new Head of HSE & Wellbeing, you will be accountable for providing advice and on all matters relating to health, safety, environment & wellbeing; including the obligations and responsibilities of all personnel, providing comprehensive, legal and practical advice in accordance with the management system. You will be responsible for oversight of the works programme and planning of resource, taking a risk-based and commercially efficient approach to recruitment and deployment, whilst ensuring projects receive appropriate levels of support in the engineering and design stages, through to construction and commissioning. Key responsibilities: Support the development of the SHEA strategy for AMP8 including detailed action plans and timescales, to implement strategic objects across the Alliance. Responsible for the development and issue of senior briefings including SLT, Partner Collaboration Group and Alliance board with current, informative and relevant information. Maintain understanding and awareness of all current legislation, best practice, and statutory requirements, and be current with of all new and forthcoming changes, ensuring full team and operational readiness in advance. Direct and advise on all areas of compliance and any areas of concern taking immediate steps to rectify. Develop risk-based assurance schedules that consider forthcoming activities and areas of focus. Lead on training strategy (organisation and management) for project and delivery teams Management of escalation and incident management including effective case management skills providing a proportionate level of response to events Manage and coordinate the team to ensure project and delivery teams are provided with adequate levels of support A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours: This job might be for you if you have: NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) Substantial experience in Health and Safety Management in design and construction Experience of managing a team Knowledge of Ecology and Wildlife Conservation Legislation Experience of the management of people and processes; having an open, honest and clear communication style Able to influence leaders, managers and frontline workers Comprehensive verbal and written communication ability Not only do we look for the best talent to join us on our journey, but we also look for individuals to demonstrate key behaviours that align with our values and beliefs.
