Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer on long term contract to join the NPI team at a leading engineering facility in Wolverhampton. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project focused on precision measurement, data analysis, and continuous quality improvement.
Responsibilities
* Operate and measure components using CMM machines with Calypso Zeiss software.
* Interpret measurement data to identify trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
* Conduct corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
* Perform bottleneck reviews to optimise production flow.
* Lead PPAP analysis.
* Support root cause analysis and implement robust solutions.
* Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans and control procedures.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
* Participate in internal audits and support external audit readiness.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the NPI process.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Proficiency in CMM operation and Calypso software.
* Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
* Experience with data analysis, problem-solving tools, and lean manufacturing principles.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Degree or HND in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
* Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors.
* Familiarity with NPI processes and cross-functional project teams.
