Your new role
Advice, guidance and training: guide and train the board, senior leadership team and colleagues across the business on new and emerging risks, mitigation, and setting and aligning risk appetite across the organisation. This will include facilitating risk workshops and conducting regular reviews of risks and controls.
Strategic risk integration: Ensure key risks are considered in corporate planning and are reflected inpany strategy, working closely with the Risk and Assurance Manager and Director ofernance & Business Assurance.
System: Oversee the embedding of and continuous development of the risk management system
Risk control testing & assurance mapping: Lead the development and delivery of a structured control testing programme, ensuring key controls are regularly assessed for design and operational effectiveness.
Maintain and update the organisation’s assurance map to provide visibility of assurance coverage across strategic risks.
Audit management: Oversee delivery of the annual internal audit programme, including tracking and monitoring budget against plan. This will include conducting quarterly evidence-based follow-ups on audit rmendations, ensuring controls are implemented and progress reported.
Anti-fraud: Work with the Risk and Assurance Manager to develop the organisation's anti-fraud approach, support investigations, and assist with anti-fraudmunications.
Business Continuity: Support business continuity planning and annual resilience testing.
Reporting: Prepare reports for the Board, Auditmittee and Executive Team on risk, internal audit, business continuity, and anti-fraud matters.
Regulatory: stay informed of sector risks, regulatory changes, and best practice in social housingernance
Deputise: Stand in for the Risk and Assurance Manager and attend meetings as required.
What you'll need to succeed Previous Risk and Assurance experience is essential. Experience within Social Housing is nonessential.
