URBAN DESIGN ROLES
We are a multidisciplinary team of Urban Planners, Urban Designers, and Heritage Consultants, with Urban Design embedded in the heart of our day-to-day work. Our projects span planning applications, master planning, regeneration, visualisation, viability assessments, public engagement, site promotion, healthcare, and education.
With a long-standing reputation and a diverse portfolio of clients, sectors, and geographic reach, we’re now looking to expand our Urban Design and Master Planning capabilities. To support this growth, we’re seeking to appoint both an Assistant Urban Designer and a Senior/Associate-level Urban Designer.
WORKING AT P&DG
As part of our team, you’ll collaborate closely with planners, clients, and external technical consultants to produce a wide array of drawings and documents that support the planning and development process. You’ll contribute to both public and private sector projects, ranging from small infill sites to large-scale strategic urban settlements and key public infrastructure.

OUR REQUIREMENTS
As an Associate, you will be expected to drive forward the business growth in urban design, take a lead in major project management, nurture and support team members, provide expert witness services and create inspiring, innovative and practical vision. Your work will combine creativity, strategic thinking and business leadership within Design.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & CAPABILITIES
* Ability to manage teams, budgets and projects.
* Experience of being an expert witness/provision of appeal evidence.
* Up to date understanding of guidance and policy.
* Strong visual communication skills, including hand drawing, Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, and ideally SketchUp.
* A proactive, innovative, and enthusiastic approach to work.
* Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* A collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute positively to team dynamics.
* Effective problem-solving capabilities.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & CAPABILITIES
* Associate Urban Designers should have ideally a minimum of 10 years’ post qualification relevant experience in Urban Design and Master Planning.
* A degree in a relevant discipline related to urban design.
* A master’s degree in Urban Design is preferred but not essential.
