Hays Senior Finance are exclusively supporting a lovely SME business based on the outskirts of Worcester with the recruitment of a new Finance Manager. The organisation prides themselves on delivering high-quality residential andmercial property solutions, built on trust, transparency and excellence.
Your new role
In this newly created role, you will oversee the financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting with robust internal controls.
Main duties:
1. Review and approve monthly management accounts
2. Support internal and external audits
3. Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts
4. Monitor cash flow and prepare weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts
5. Ensurepliance with accounting standards and legislations
6. Prepare and submit VAT returns
7. Maintain and improve financial controls/processes
8. Work closely with senior management to provide financial insights
9. Lead, develop and train a finance team of 3
What you'll need to succeed
10. Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
11. Proven track record of delivering robust day-to-day financial management in an SME setting
12. Solid understanding of accounting principles and best practice
13. Property/hospitality background (highly desirable)
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
15. Excellentmunication skills and the confidence to engage with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
16. Experience managing and developing a small finance team
17. Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLookUps, modelling etc.) and proficiency with accounting software (Sage 200 preferable)
