Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs in a specialist educational setting in Bamber Bridge. This is a full-time, long-term position offered through Teaching Personnel, ideal for someone who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with additional needs. The school supports pupils across both primary and secondary age groups.
Key responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with PMLD and complex needs
Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and mobility where required
Support communication using alternative methods such as PECS, Makaton, or assistive technology
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
Support sensory-based learning activities and individualised education plans
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly PMLD or complex needs
Be patient, empathetic, and resilient
Be comfortable supporting personal care needs
Have strong teamwork and communication skills
Be adaptable and proactive in a dynamic classroom environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
