Job Overview
We are seeking an IT Support Engineer to support the Bristol office of an advanced aerospace technology company. This role will act as the primary point of contact for IT support while also taking ownership of establishing and maintaining the office’s IT infrastructure.
This is a hands-on position where you will deploy and support high-performance workstations used by engineering teams, configure network infrastructure, and provide day-to-day technical support for internal users. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently to stand up systems in a growing office environment while ensuring reliable and secure IT operations.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT support requests within the Bristol office.
Set up and configure office IT infrastructure including networking equipment, workstations, and user access.
Deploy and support high-performance engineering workstations and hardware used by technical teams.
Install, configure, and maintain Mac and Windows systems, including Lenovo or similar hardware.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Assist with onboarding new employees including device setup, account provisioning, and application access.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and password resets.
Configure and maintain VPN access and remote connectivity.
Document infrastructure setups, support processes, and IT procedures.
Collaborate with global IT teams to ensure systems align with company security and operational standards.
Provide basic user guidance and support for internal tools and systems.
Skills:
2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or systems support roles.
Experience setting up office IT infrastructure and workstation environments.
Experience supporting high-performance desktop or workstation hardware.
Experience supporting both Mac OS and Windows environments.
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network connectivity.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of IT setup for a new office environment.
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting engineering or aerospace teams.
Experience deploying high-spec workstations used for design, simulation, or engineering workloads.
Familiarity with networking equipment such as routers, switches, and VPN configuration.
Experience working in fast-paced startup or technical environments.

Pay: Up to £40.00 per hour
