Summary
The
Transloading Specialist
is critical to managing
transloading operations for Azelis from its Principals and Customers
, ensuring continuity for key customers and maintaining service reliability. In addition to overseeing day-to-day transloading activities and coordinating with various tollers, this role will also act as the
process owner for logistics for transloaded and down-packed specialty chemicals
, which will be primarily managed at various sites in US. This includes ensuring proper
railcar/tanker unloading, dilution, and packaging into totes
to meet customer expectations. The Transloading Specialist will serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure accurate execution, issue resolution, and logistics process compliance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Transloading Operations & Oversight

* Oversee execution of day-to-day transloading activities at designated sites including schedule coordination, railcar spotting, and tank truck dispatching.
* Ensure compliance with specialized handling procedures such as temperature control, nitrogen padding, and sampling protocols.
* Confirm adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and escalate deviations or exceptions to Logistics and SHEQ teams.
* Support onboarding activities including document review, site setup, and change management.

Process Ownership – Invista HMD Products

* Act as logistics process owner for various transloaded and Down packed at various US facilities.
* Ensure product is properly unloaded from railcars or tankers, diluted if necessary, and packaged into totes according to customer specifications and SHEQ regulatory requirements.
* Monitor and improve handling process, track any product nonconformance, and coordinate with plant operations and site teams as needed.

Stakeholder Communication & Coordination

* Collaborate with commercial, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure transloading processes align with customer expectations and contract terms.
* Serve as primary contact for transloading service providers to ensure service level commitments are met.
* Participate in regular syncs, provide updates to stakeholders, and address questions or escalations regarding ongoing transloading activities.

Logistics Performance Monitoring

* Maintain metrics and reporting on transload performance (e.g., on-time transload %, rework %, accessorials).
* Identify and implement corrective actions for recurring service issues or process breakdowns.
* Support internal training and system troubleshooting related to transload tracking or work order processing.

Key Strengths and Competencies

* Strong coordination and follow-through across multiple stakeholders.
* Detailed understanding of specialized chemical handling, dilution, and transloading.
* Effective communicator, able to translate logistics process changes across operational and commercial teams.
* Experience in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
* Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and timelines.

Qualifications

* 3+ years' experience in logistics, chemical distribution, or transloading operations.
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Chemical Engineering, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
* Experience managing temperature-sensitive and specialty chemicals (preferred).
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with logistics platforms (e.g., Uber Freight, Visiship, EDI systems).
* Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft D365 (preferred).
* Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to travel to transloading and partner sites occasionally.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

* On-Time Transload Execution (%): Percent of transloading operations completed on schedule.
* Right-First-Time Execution (%): Accuracy in on time / on temp in the first delivery.
* Issue Resolution Time: Average time to resolve transloading exceptions or escalations.
* SOP Adherence Rate: Compliance with transloading and safety procedures.
* Cost per Transload Unit: Cost-effectiveness of transloading operations.
* Customer Service Level: Internal/external feedback on reliability and communication.
* Accessorial Incidents (%): Rate of preventable charges such as detention or demurrage.
