Overview
The successful candidate will gain experience in a wide range of orthoptic services, including working as a member of a highly specialist team in paediatric ophthalmology, ocular motility and neuro-ophthalmology clinics. The position is based at Arrowe Park Hospital with a possibility of single handed community clinics across the Wirral Peninsula as competency increases. Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is an accredited department for orthoptic under-graduates on placement and is involved in the clinical teaching of medical students, junior doctors, student nurses and pre-registration optometrists. An interest in teaching will therefore be an advantage. The Trust is committed to CPD and allocates time for this.
