Job Title: People Advisor
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum not pro rata (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri 9-5
Overview
The People Advisor plays a leading role within OFG working with colleagues in the wider People Services function to deliver an excellent service to staff and managers, with a focus on providing excellent customer service. This role provides case management support to line managers and employees, handling processes and enquiries in line with policy.
Key responsibilities
* Act as an advisor to stakeholders across the business with a high level of focus on providing an excellent service to customers.
* Provide case management of Employment Relations matters.
* Monitor all long-term and short-term absence and long-term sickness related issues.
* Support the People Administration team with escalated issues, providing advice and guidance where necessary.
* Implementing and administering employee policies and procedures.
* Provide high performing operational People Service.
* Support the Senior People Manager in continuous improvement initiatives to support the People Strategy and Living knowledge.
Standard responsibilities
There are standard duties and responsibilities that all employees, irrespective of role, are expected to be familiar with and adhere to.
* Lead, manage and participate in an annual performance review programme.
* Work in accordance with the OFG Group policies and procedures and applicable statutory regulations.
* Observe strict rules of confidentiality appropriate to the post.
* Comply with Health and Safety Regulations to ensure wellbeing of staff and colleagues.
* Support safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults and work in accordance with this.
* Undertake other duties as assigned.
Experience, skills & qualifications
ESSENTIAL
* Generalist HR experience within an HR environment.
* Well organised with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage a high volume of case work and queries to meet deadlines.
* Proficient in Word and Excel. Numerate, accurate and efficient.
* Flexible and proactive mindset.
* Ability to build rapport with third parties and line managers.
* Proven ability to effectively manage a range of situations with potential emotional impact.
* Awareness of GDPR and confidentiality of personal information.
* CIPD qualification to Certificate in Personnel Practice.
* Safeguarding experience is preferred but not essential.
