An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dental Receptionist to join our Public Dental Service team within Oban Lorn & Islands Hospital.

We seek a friendly dedicated team member who is flexible and able to work calmly and accurately. Experience of working as a receptionist, face to face contact with the public together with excellent communication and organisational skills. A good working/practical knowledge of IT applications such as Word and Excel are essential. Experience of working in healthcare services and an administrative qualification are desirable. Duties may involve attendance at other clinics throughout Argyll and Bute. A driving licence is essential, with access to own vehicle for work purposes.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa.

Responsibilities

* Provide reception duties within the Public Dental Service, including front-desk activities and handling enquiries from patients.
* Work calmly and accurately, with friendly, professional customer service.
* Utilise IT applications (e.g., Word and Excel) for administrative tasks.
* Attend other clinics throughout Argyll and Bute as required.
* Possess a valid driving licence with access to own vehicle for work purposes.


Qualifications

* Experience of working as a receptionist and face-to-face contact with the public.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Working knowledge of IT applications (Word, Excel) is essential.
* Experience in healthcare services and an administrative qualification are desirable.

Note on working hours: NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will be applied pro rata for part-time staff. The advert and any subsequent offer/contract reflect the new working hours. Some service areas may not adopt the 37-hour week immediately and you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week temporarily, with pay, until Rosters/working patterns change to accommodate the new week.
