Relief Support Practitioners – Overview
Relief Support Practitioners work for the Livingston service, a small outreach service situated in Dedridge. Pay is £13.45 per hour.
The Livingston Service supports three people in the community. Support ranges from 24‑hour coverage for some to short periods for others. Employees provide a person‑centred approach to enable individuals to live in their own homes, maintain tenancies, manage finances, personal care, and health & social support.
Shifts at Livingston range from 3 to 11 hours, including one sleepover shift per day. Driving is the primary means of travel between client homes, but Ark will help with transport where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
* Communicate and work well with supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
* Support individuals throughout activities, offering positive feedback and encouragement.
* Update and maintain accurate records using a tablet on Ark's Information Management system.
* Utilise the flexibility of relief work – pick up shifts as suitable to your availability.
Qualifications and Attributes
* No previous experience required – full training provided.
* Enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated to supporting vulnerable people.
* Reliable and flexible to work various shift lengths.
* Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
