An Academic Mentor is needed in an All Boys Grammar Secondary School and Mixed 6th Form in South East London.
This Academic Mentor position will be full time and long term, with scope to go permanent.
If appointed as an Academic Mentor, you will mainly provide class based support for students with a range of needs, mostly ASD and ADHD.
There may be some 1:1 support required for KS3 student with this Academic Mentor post.
Academic Mentor applicants with specialisms, such as speech and language or anxiety etc., could be assigned 1:1 work with identified students too.
Occasionally assisting with class cover when the teacher is absent will be a requirement for this Academic Mentor role as well.
The rates of pay for this Academic Mentor position will be between GBP82.14 to GBP130 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.
The School
An All:Boys Grammar School with a Mixed Sixth Form, located in the London Borough of Bexley.
Academically very strong, they consistently post GCSE and A level results above the regional and national average, with 97 of students achieving 5 A*:C grades including Business and Maths.
The schools success is the result of their excellent teaching and facilities which has led to students there being happy, well behaved and keen to learn and succeed.
In 1995 the school was awarded DfES Technology College specialist status. This enabled them to acquire additional funds for DT, ICT, Science and Maths.
1998 saw the school win the School Sports Award, which recognised their achievements in Rugby and Football, two of the schools main sports.
Overtime the school has continued to develop positively and in 2006, the school gained an additional specialism as an MFL College.

Youre welcome if youre a recent Graduate or experienced Academic Mentor.
Applications are also welcome if youre a British trained Academic Mentor or overseas trained Academic Mentor.

* UK Bachelors Degree
* Right to work in the UK
* Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
* Experience of working with children/young people or as an Academic Mentor in UK schools
