Care/General Practice Assistant (ARRS Role)
Cestria Health Centre has a fantastic opportunity for a Care Coordinator/General Practice Assistant (GPA) to join our team. The role is a support role, covering administrative tasks and, if appropriate, some basic clinical duties, to assist the GPs and the wider team, enabling them to make the best use of consultation time.
The post-holder will form part of our multi-disciplinary, primary-care team and contribute to the smooth running of the surgery.
Job responsibilities
* Manageincoming and outgoing communications (emails, documents, tasks)
* Helpwith appointment booking, patient queries and care navigation
* Explain treatment procedures to patients including arranging follow up appointments
* Help people to manage their needs by answering their queriesand supporting them in making appointments andensuring patients have goodquality written orverbal information to help them make choices about their care
* Monitor referrals, missed appointments, investigations, to include cancer 2wwreferrals and missed follow up appointments
* Record patient's demographic and simple health information as part of their personalised care plan/record
* Provide patients with high quality, easy tounderstand information to assist them in making choices about their care
* Support in the delivery of enhanced services and otherservice requirements on behalf of the PCN
* Arrangeweekly practice meetings, including preparation of lists, creating teams linksand taking minutes
* ManagingGPSI referrals, including scanning, registration of patients and organizingtriage, prior to appointment booking
* Weeklyextraction of information from GPSI clinics to prepare datasets for submission
* Completingbasic (non-opinion) forms for the GP to approve and sign including, but notlimited to, insurance, mortgage and Department for Work and Pensions forms
* Leadon health promotion and education work
* Takeand record observations such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature

We are a friendly, long established and CQC Outstanding GP surgery recently joined with Coxhoe Medical Practice. We need to expand our team due to growing list size and GPSI service expansion.

Qualifications
* GCSE/NVQ level 2 or equivalent; or detailed patient services knowledge
* Qualified to NVQ level 3
Experience
* IT confident .
* Must have customer/patient care skills and have worked in a customer/patient facing environment.
* Competence in Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Ability to compile and analyse statistical information.
* Experience of working with clinical systems i.e. Systm1 would be desirable.
* Experience working in primary care
* Experience of working in a public sector/healthcare environment would be extremely advantageous.
