Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun (On-site, with a recruitment day in Glasgow)
Salary: £38,662.00 (plus a potential 33% shift allowance)
Your Mission:
As a Pipefitter, you will be at the heart of our operations, responsible for crafting and installing piping systems that are crucial to our projects in the defence sector. Your expertise will ensure that our installations meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Fabricating and installing pipework systems using various materials, including copper, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
* Utilizing hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend, and weld pipes.
* Installing essential utilities aboard ships, such as sinks, showers, and toilets.
* Assembling fittings, valves, and components according to technical drawings.
* Collaborating with other trades to ensure timely project completion.
* Adhering to safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
* Maintaining accurate records of your work.
Your Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (required upon application) and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds).
* Current knowledge and experience in pipe manufacture and installation.
* Strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH, and Risk Assessments.
* Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within an industrial or commercial environment.
Desirable:
* Marine Pipefitting experience.
* Experience in industrial or commercial settings.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Experience in TIG Pipe Welding.
