Supply Heroes are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive school in the Aston area for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from May Half-Term 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential in a nurturing and structured environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
* Supporting children with a range of needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties)
* Implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
* Managing behaviour in a positive and supportive manner
* Assisting with classroom activities and adapting resources where necessary
* Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Requirements
* Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant
* Strong SEN experience is essential
* A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent)
* Knowledge of supporting children with additional needs such as ASD and ADHD
* Understanding of EHCPs and tailored support strategies
* Excellent behaviour management skills
* A patient, resilient and caring approach
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
