Service Designer (Contract)

• Rate: £550/day (Inside IR35, via Umbrella)
• Location: Crawley, West Sussex (2 days onsite per week)
• Duration: 6 months (extensions likely)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Service Designer to support the delivery of user-centred services within a regulated environment, designing and improving compliant, end-to-end service experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and optimise end-to-end services across multiple touchpoints
• Produce service blueprints, journey maps, and other core design artefacts
• Conduct user research and translate insights into actionable improvements
• Collaborate with product, delivery, and technical teams to implement solutions
• Ensure services meet regulatory, compliance, and governance standards
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and alignment sessions

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Service Designer in complex organisations
• Strong experience working in regulated environments (eg public sector, finance, healthcare)
• Expertise in creating service blueprints and mapping end-to-end services
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Familiarity with GDS or similar service standards (desirable)
