Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Children’s Worker to join our team at an Ofsted-registered children’s home in Wimborne, Dorset. The role involves supporting children and young people with complex needs, including emotional, behavioural, or developmental challenges, in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the Registered Manager, other staff, and external professionals to provide high-quality care that promotes positive outcomes, personal growth, and wellbeing for children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct care and support to children in line with individual care plans and risk assessments.
*
Build trusting, supportive, and consistent relationships with children, acting as a positive role model.
*
Support children with education, personal development, and social activities.
*
Encourage and develop life skills, independence, and self-confidence.
*
Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the home’s policies and Ofsted standards.
*
Maintain accurate records, reports, and observations of children’s progress, incidents, and care provided.
*
Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at all times.
*
Attend team meetings, supervision, and training sessions to support professional development and high-quality care delivery.
*
Work collaboratively with other staff, external professionals, and families to promote the welfare of children.
*
Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional standards at all times.
Essential Requirements:
*
Experience working with children and young people, ideally in residential care, fostering, or social care settings.
*
Understanding of children’s development, safeguarding, and behaviour management.
*
Good communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
*
Flexible approach to work, including evening, weekend, and sleep-in duties as required.
*
Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable:
*
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards).
*
Experience supporting children with EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties), SEMH, or LD.
*
First aid qualification.
*
Previous experience in an Ofsted-registered setting.
