Neo International Partners is leading a global campaign to recruit an experienced and dynamic Project Director for an iconic multi-billion-pound project. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive and renowned contractor.
About the Role
A globally respected infrastructure contractor seeks a Project Director to lead the delivery of a major, multi-billion-pound infrastructure programme in the UK. This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional with extensive international experience to oversee one of Europe's most significant infrastructure projects currently in procurement and development.
The successful candidate will manage a multidisciplinary team through all project stages—from preconstruction to handover—ensuring delivery meets high standards of safety, quality, and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead planning and delivery of a major infrastructure project exceeding £1bn.
* Oversee all project phases, including procurement, design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
* Provide strategic leadership to large delivery teams across engineering, commercial, construction, and programme control.
* Foster collaboration among contractors, consultants, clients, and stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety laws and promote continuous improvement and risk management.
* Manage the project's commercial strategy, including cost control, contracts, and value engineering.
* Represent the organization with senior stakeholders at executive and governmental levels.
* Monitor progress, budgets, KPIs, and implement mitigation measures proactively.
Key Requirements
* Proven success in delivering multi-billion-pound infrastructure projects in sectors like transportation, tunneling, water, or energy.
* Strong international experience, preferably managing joint ventures or consortia in complex stakeholder environments.
* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; chartered status preferred.
* Deep understanding of NEC contracts and UK infrastructure commercial frameworks.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills for managing diverse teams.
* Experience working with senior government, regulatory, and client bodies.
* Experience with sustainability and ESG targets is advantageous.
