Commercial Manager (Defence | Engineering) - Hybrid, SC Cleared

Location: Cheltenham, England (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum

About the Opportunity:

Electus Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Manager to join a prominent client within the engineering and defence sector. This is a critical leadership role, ideal for a commercial professional with a strong background in managing complex projects, particularly within highly regulated environments. You will be instrumental in ensuring the commercial viability and success of critical defence programmes, contributing directly to strategic business outcomes. This isn't a legal or procurement-focused position; rather, it’s a hands-on commercial leadership role, requiring a business and operational mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

* Commercial Leadership: Drive commercial strategy and oversight for contracts and projects.
* Bid & Tender Support: Provide essential commercial input to bids, tenders, and pricing models.
* Commercial Governance: Implement and maintain robust commercial governance, identifying and mitigating risks.
* Financial Partnership: Collaborate closely with finance and delivery teams to ensure project profitability.
* Performance Reporting: Develop and manage commercial reporting and performance metrics.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key commercial point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

* Commercial Management Experience: Proven track record in a Commercial Manager role within defence, aerospace, or engineering.
* Contract Lifecycle Management: Strong understanding of commercial frameworks, contract management, and risk mitigation.
* Defence Sector Acumen: Experience operating within the UK defence industry is highly desirable.
* Security Clearance: You must be a sole British National and able to obtain SC (Security Check) clearance.
* Collaborative & Analytical: Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
* Cheltenham Commute: Ability to commit to a hybrid working model (3-4 days onsite in Cheltenham).
