We’re recruiting an Business Development Manager for a leading foodservice supplier, covering the Lake District. This role is perfect for someone who loves being out in the field, opening doors, and growing a territory through proactive, strategic new business development.
In this fast-paced, autonomous role, around 80% of your focus will be on generating new business, with the remaining 20% on nurturing and developing existing accounts.
What you’ll be doing as a Business Development Manager:
Win new business

Proactively identify, target, and convert new customers across the Lake District.

Build a strong pipeline through canvassing, networking, and local market insight.
*
Present tailored solutions that showcase value, quality, and commercial advantage.
Grow and retain existing accounts
*
Strengthen relationships with current customers, ensuring exceptional service and retention.
*
Identify growth opportunities by analysing spend, spotting gaps, and optimising product mix.
Drive commercial performance
*
Deliver sustainable sales and profit growth in line with ambitious territory targets.
*
Use market knowledge to spot trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
Collaborate to deliver a great customer experience
*
Partner with internal Category Specialists to support customer development and menu solutions.
Stay accountable

Maintain accurate reporting, ensuring KPIs such as call rate, pipeline activity, and new business wins are met.
What we’re looking for:

A results-driven Business Development Manager with a strong background in new business development.
*
Proven ability to exceed targets and grow a territory from both new and existing customers.
*
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
*
Commercially astute, proactive, and confident working independently.
*
A full UK driving licence.
What’s on offer:

£38,000 - £42,000 base salary

£7,000 car allowance
*
Uncapped OTE of £12-£15k+
