Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed facility located in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides high standards of safety, comfort, and care for residents with various needs, offering residential, nursing, and dementia care. We reflect the New Care vision by investing in the latest technology and providing daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, supported by full induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We pride ourselves on employing a permanent staff team, with no agency staff for over four years, ensuring continuity of care and building trust with residents. All staff are paid at least the national living wage.
We are seeking a kind, compassionate, and caring Registered Nurse to join our team. You will support the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager in providing leadership and effective 24-hour management of the home within available resources. This is a full-time role offering an excellent salary of £22.50 per hour. Shift times are 07:45-20:00, with alternate weekend working. Benefits include NMC fee paid, paid breaks and handover, bank holiday and overtime enhancements, paid training, support with revalidation, and free onsite parking.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Promote the highest standard of person-centred clinical nursing care to residents.
2. Manage, allocate duties, and supervise the care team to ensure quality care delivery during shifts.
3. Act as a role model and demonstrate person-centred care delivery.
4. Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults in your care or contact.
5. Manage the delivery of residents' personalised care according to their care plans during your shift.
6. Support professional standards within the home, assisting the Deputy and Home Manager.
7. Provide supervision, coaching, and assessment to Senior Care Assistants and Care Assistants.
8. Ensure effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care through written care plans.
9. Maintain accurate records as required by the company and regulatory bodies.
10. Manage daily rotas and delegate workloads, ensuring safe and sufficient staffing.
11. Complete new admission files within the first week of arrival, with contributions from the named nurse, senior carer, and key worker.
12. Build relationships with external professionals.
13. Assist the home manager in conducting regular quality audits of care plans.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Essential experience in Elderly care.
2. Registered Nurse with a valid PIN.
3. Knowledge of caring for older people to effectively coach and supervise staff.
4. Professional manner and appearance.
5. Ability to coordinate and motivate a team.
6. Ability to prioritise tasks and handle emergencies effectively.
