Personal Assistant Job Description About Employer and Job Purpose I am a 4 year old girl with complex medical needs including CDKL5, severely sight impaired (registered blind), Epilepsy, wheelchair user non mobile, Global Development Delay, Non verbal and am double incontinent. I am PEG fed with two meals a day and one overnight feed and water bolus in between as well as my drug regime through the day. I enjoy listening to music, having stories read to me, sensory play time and listening to my family around me. I would like my Personal Assistant (PA) to encourage me to try new activities, get me ready for Pre-School each morning, sensory play and work with me on my physiotherapy programme. I am looking for a PA who is enthusiastic and will make my days fun and meaningful with a focus on me and my needs. I need support on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8am – 12noon with a view to an increase. I do also have 2 hours direct payments available for social time on a Monday afternoon. (up to 21 hours) Due to my complex medical needs training will be provided in drug administration, physiotherapy, moving and handling and any other elements required for my care. However, experience of working in this field would be preferable. Work Duties: Personal care – including washing, dressing, changing nappy. Administer PEG feed. Sensory play including floor activities. Arts and crafts/messy play Physiotherapy including use of my stander and work chair. Outdoor walking/exercise Administer medication. Get ready for transport to take me to Pre-School. Assisting with leisure activities and accompanying me on family day trips Supporting with My mobility and use of hoist, ensuring my safety. Ensuring I am safe with all activities at home or outside. Other requirements Working in a safe way and highlighting health and safety concerns Assisting with management of my health risks Establish and maintain effective communication.
