Assistant Accountant / Graduate Accountant
Carrickfergus (BT38)
Salary c.£28K – £32K DOE
Our client is a well-established, successful and progressive leading British manufacturer with distribution across the UK and Ireland, with exports to Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and North America. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their established finance team to assist with the day-to-day finance operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded finance professional who has proven accounts experience or a recent recent graduate working towards a financial qualification wishing to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities:
1. Provide support across finance processes including accounts payable and credit control.
2. Coordinate invoicing and oversee the interface between the ERP system and Sage.
3. Ensure all invoicing support documentation (commissioning, electrical, and other building certifications) is collated in an accurate and timely way.
4. Reconcile dispatches, installations, and invoicing to support accurate financial reporting.
5. Assist with month-end close processes and reconciliations.
6. Manage and process RCT (Relevant Contracts Tax) submissions.
7. Support and collaborate with the Credit Controller to ensure timely customer payments.
8. Contribute to process improvements within the finance function.
9. Assist in audit preparation and support audit processes.
10. Utilise Excel for financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting tasks.
11. Other ad hoc financial duties as required.
Qualifications:
12. Part Qualified Accounts Technician / Part Qualified Accountant
Or
13. Recent graduates with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
Essential eligibility criteria:
14. Recent experience in a fast-paced commercial accounting role (desirable but not essential)
15. Prior experience with Sage and ERP systems (desirable but not essential)
16. Excellent Excel skills (vlookups, sumif, pivot tables etc)
17. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
18. Good numeracy aptitude and keen eye for detail
19. Time management and working towards tight deadlines
20. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
