Are you an aspiring Quantity Surveyor with a passion for delivering high-quality, cost-effective projects in the healthcare sector? VINCI Construction is looking for a proactive and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team at Whiston Hospital in St. Helens. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional (0–3 years' experience) to gain hands-on experience working on live healthcare projects with the support and mentorship of an experienced commercial team.
What We’re Looking For:
* BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* 0–3 years of post-graduate experience in a commercial or construction setting
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong communication and organisation skills
* A proactive approach and willingness to learn
What You’ll Be Doing:
You will assist in delivering commercial and financial elements of our work on site, supporting project success across key areas including:
Procurement
* Support the procurement of materials, subcontractors, and services in line with VINCI procedures.
* Help prepare tender packages, invitations, evaluations, and recommendations.
* Contribute to developing strong, efficient supply chain relationships.
Applications & Cost Control
* Assist in the timely preparation of valuations, invoices, and final accounts.
* Monitor and manage subcontract costs and material usage.
* Identify and report inefficiencies, supporting project cost optimisation.
* Contribute to cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and accurate forecasting.
* Learn to identify project risks and opportunities and record project changes.
Contract Administration
* Support subcontract and main contract administration, including preparing notices and instructions.
* Help ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and project controls.
Project Completion
* Assist in the final stages of project close-out and documentation archiving.
