Eden Scott client is recruiting for a Mortgage Compliance Specialist to join a leading financial institution on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Edinburgh.
This role plays a key part in ensuring the organisation meets its regulatory obligations through effective compliance oversight and control testing. You’ll work collaboratively across all lines of defence to deliver high-quality assurance and help embed a strong compliance culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of mortgage quality assurance activities.
* Report regularly on findings, progress, and actions to stakeholders and committees.
* Provide feedback and agree on remedial actions with relevant teams.
* Document mortgage sales processes (advised and execution-only) in line with regulations and internal policies.
* Collaborate with the Training & Competence Manager to develop and deliver training.
* Advise on corrective actions where compliance breaches occur.
* Build strong, constructive relationships across the business while maintaining independence.
* Provide challenge and support to first-line teams.
* Identify and implement efficient, compliant processes that support good client outcomes.
Person Specification
* Experience: 5+ years in regulated mortgage compliance.
* Qualifications: CeMAP essential.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK mortgage regulation; private banking experience is a plus.
* Skills: Analytical, resilient, and confident in influencing senior stakeholders.
* Attributes: Detail-oriented, solution-focused, and collaborative.
