The Cheshire and Mersey Perinatal Mental Health Service has grown at a significant rate following a successful bid for Long Term Plan funding, allowing us to support an increasing number of women, partners, and families within the perinatal period. In order to continue this expansion and ensure high-quality mental health assessments with a "think family approach" we are looking to recruit Clinical Nurse Specialists/Non Medical Prescribers to work based within Liverpool & Sefton Specialist Perinatal Services.

In order to continue this expansion and ensure high-quality mental health assessments with a "think family approach" we are looking to recruit Clinical Nurse Specialists/Non Medical Prescribers to work based within Liverpool & Sefton Specialist Perinatal Services.
We are seeking practitioners who are passionate about providing excellent care to women and families within the perinatal period and seeking to reduce health inequalities.
We are a supportive, friendly highly committed service who provide multidisciplinary specialised care to women in the perinatal period with moderate to severe mental health problems. We offer excellent training opportunities to our staff and robust supervision to support delivery of high quality care.
Main duties of the job
To plan and deliver nurse led clinics and interventions within a multidisciplinary and interagency framework, providing staff development and specialist assessment and review including medication reviews and prescribing to support patients.
To prescribe and monitor medication to patients under the care of the specialist perinatal mental health team, under the guidance and supervision of medical staff.
Support service development by responding to local needs and establish effective care pathways.
Facilitate training for GP's and other Primary Care staff and offer self as a resource to secondary services.
Provide ongoing guidance and supervision for staff within the team.
Establish performance monitoring systems for reporting purposes.
Be accountable for own practice.

Principal Responsibilities:1. Provide highly specialised clinical advice and support to service users and the wider healthcare team this will include clinical assessment, diagnostic skills, non-medical prescribing and implementation of management and treatment plans.2. Be responsible for the delivery of the service within the area.3. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other services/stakeholders to enable service users are treated in the most appropriate setting.4. Ensure that the team provides a high-quality service to its clients by providing caseload and clinical supervision.5. Ensure that teams work proactively in order to deliver anticipatory and maintenance care, providing a responsive service to service users with both planned and unplanned care needs.6. Maintain clinical credibility by providing clinical care and supporting members of the team within the clinical environment.7. Participate in the development of caseload management across the local health economy.8. Provide leadership and mentoring to those staff developing into a caseload management role.9. Acts as an advocate and champion for patients/clients in a variety of forums and professional groups and challenge attitudes and behaviour.10. Implement plans for the team including rotas and schedules/working patterns to ensure business continuity.11. Practice autonomously and demonstrate evidence based clinical decision making.12.
