About the role
We are looking for an experienced People Partner to join our People team on a 12‑month maternity cover, working closely with the aligned People Director partnering with our central functions including Finance, Risk & Compliance, Legal, Audit and CEO Office.
This is an opportunity to play a high impact senior partnering role within a complex, professional environment. The role focuses on providing effective strategic ‑people partnering, strong professional judgement and oversight of delivery through the wider People team.
Working closely with senior leaders, you will be collaborating with specialist People teams to ensure high quality execution ‑of people plans and cyclical activity. You will attend Senior Leadership meetings across the different functions, representing the People function and supporting delivery of People priorities through credible, pragmatic advice.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Partner with Senior Leadership Teams across corporate / central functions, providing trusted, pragmatic people advice aligned to business and functional strategies
* Lead and oversee delivery of people plans and cyclical activity, including:
o Strategic workforce planning
o Capability and leadership development
o Talent and succession planning
o Diversity, equity and inclusion activity
o Reward and performance processes
* Work at the direction of the aligned People Director, collaborating with Centres of Excellence and the wider People team to agree objectives, deliverables and outcomes
* Ensure effective governance, consistency and quality across people activity, particularly where work is delivered via projects or shared services
* Provide insight through data, analysis and clear reporting to support senior decision ‑making
* Act as a champion of the People Team operating model, reinforcing accountability for people leadership and management across your areas
* Support risk management responsibilities in line with Group risk and control frameworks, ensuring people risks are identified, managed and escalated appropriately
About you
We’re looking for someone with credible senior People partnering experience, ideally within professional, regulatory or corporate environments.
You’ll bring:
* Proven current experience as a People Partner / HR Business Partner operating at senior leadership level
* Experience partnering with corporate or central functions (e.g. Finance, Risk, Legal, Audit or similar), with an understanding of the complexity, governance and professional cultures involved
* The ability to oversee and orchestrate delivery through others, working effectively across specialist teams
* Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and consultancy skills, with confidence operating in senior forums
* Strong judgement, resilience and commercial awareness, with the confidence to represent the People Director when required
* Proficiency in using HR systems and analysing data to inform decision ‑making
* A strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice
