HGV Class 1 Driver – Ad Hoc / Weekend Trunking – Tamworth, Staffordshire All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description. People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and flexible working with a large national client. This position is ideal for drivers seeking additional hours, part-time work, or semi-retired drivers looking for flexible shifts. It will suit applicants who have previously worked in a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver. Shifts: • Friday, Saturday, or Sunday • Start times between 08:00 – 14:00 or 20:00 – 23:00 • Shifts averaging 8–11 hours • Very flexible work available Rates of Pay (PAYE): • £19.20 per hour – Monday to Friday • £20.35 per hour – Saturday and Sunday • Holiday pay accrued separately Benefits: Your benefits as an HGV Class 1 Driver will include: • Weekly pay • Site-subsidised shop with discounted rates • Ongoing work • Opportunity for full-time work Day to Day Duties: As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your day to day duties will include: • Completing Class 1 trunking runs from depot to depot • Occasional deliveries to supermarkets • Occasional collections from suppliers when required • Operating refrigerated trailers safely and efficiently • Carrying out daily vehicle checks • Ensuring all loads are secure and transported safely • Adhering to UK traffic laws and company procedures • No handball required Essential Skills: The skills required to be an HGV Class 1 Driver are: • Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence • Valid Digital Tachograph card • Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card (DQC) • Minimum of twelve months' Class 1 driving experience • Experience operating refrigerated trailers Desirable Experience: • Good knowledge of the UK road network • Experience working with chilled vehicles or refrigerated trailers Training Provided: • Driving assessment required prior to starting • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout the assignment Apply: If you are ready to take on this opportunity as an HGV Class 1 Driver based in Tamworth, please apply today and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch. xxuwjjq People Solutions do not charge candidates any fees or request deposits at any stage of the recruitment process.
