Responsibilities and Qualifications
The post holder must be committed to high‑quality patient care, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, advancement of knowledge through research, and excellence in education/training. The post holder will be expected to have completed a formal Fellowship in Pituitary at a recognised institution or have additional equivalent experience in this field. A PhD in a related field is desirable. The post holder will be a key member of the Neurosurgical Department and will be required to participate in audits within the department, including regular reviews of mortality and morbidity.
You will be required to work with the current neurosurgeons as a team, covering operating sessions to ensure the theatre lists are used every week throughout the year. Candidates should have the ability to run and manage complex neurosurgical clinics and supervise trainees, demonstrating experience in managing a variety of neurosurgical conditions and procedures. Candidates must be eligible for full GMC registration and either be already on, or eligible to be on, the Specialist Register and have completed a formal fellowship in neurosurgery at a recognised institution.
