Responsibilities
:
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you can expect to be working on projects ranging from £2k to £2.5m, with an average of £5k. the works are reactive and there is a fast pace with 20 to 30 projects per week being issued by our framework Partners for reactive maintenance and small scheme projects.
Main Function of Job:
1. Prepare estimates using a schedule of rates
2. Price variations / technical queries to contracted works
3. Liaise with delivery team regarding works executed
4. Analyse cost reports
5. Assist in producing final accounts
6. Negotiate and agree final accounts with Client
7. Compile cost-value reconciliations
8. Submit periodic valuations
9. Assessing sub-contractors claims
10. Attend site to take measurements
11. Attend progress meetings
12. Contribute to monthly commercial meetings
13. Submit periodic applications for payment
14. Assist with and help produce commercial reports for the Board of Directors
15. Assist with all change control processes
16. Work with supply chain for procurement of suppliers and S/C
17. Assist with tenders
18. Comply with and promote the company safety policy
Experience needed for this Assistant Quantity Surveyor role
19. Similar experience working within a contracting environment (rail experience preferred but not essential)
20. HND / HNC or working towards - Essential
21. MS Office Skills - Essential
22. Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying - Desirable
